INTRODUCTION
Expertise and proficiency in leading a staff does not always guarantee success in handling teams. Effective people-handling skills are anchored on three core competencies communication, motivation and development. A sound working knowledge of these essential steps, tools and techniques used in effective communication, motivation and development are essential to maintaining a successful and high-performing team. A promotion does not automatically make one a leader. It requires learning and using a whole new set of behavioral and conceptual skills. Know what it takes to lead your people toward achieving your goals. The workshop is designed to provide excellent value to practicing, newly promoted and aspiring Team leaders, supervisors and managers who have the responsibility of managing a team of people using both the modern techniques and the leadership philosophy of Taoism. At the end of the workshop, the participants will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to be able to effectively manage and maintain a high-performing team. |

METHODOLOGY
The course is designed to be highly interactive, participative and experiential. The facilitator shall provide conceptual handles through lecturettes, experiential group activities, case studies, group discussions and shall facilitate the thinking, introspecting and creating processes during practical applications. Other methods to be used are pencil and paper exercises, simulations and re-entry action planning and self- affirmation.
PROGRAM DETAILS
Specifically, at the end of the workshop participants should be able to:
- Mindfulness: Managing one’s perception and emotion which is the first step to managing people according to leadership philosophy of Taoism.
- Eastern Philosophy and Western Science: The Interplay of 2 Disciplines in Teaching Leadership
- The effects of the leader's positive or negative vibes in the workplace - from the perspective of Quantum Physics
- Why authoritarian style of leadership is not effective in the modern times - from the perspective of Positive Psychologists
- How the brain of a positive leader works and why are they more effective - from the perspective of Neuroscientists
- Deliver results that contribute to the company’s plans
- Manage people’s performance toward achieving the organization’s goals
- Appreciate the transition to higher responsibilities
- Build a better work relationship with your staff
- Exercise power, authority and credibility through assertiveness
- Delegate properly using the principles of getting the work done effectively by a staff
- Align your people’s efforts through effective coaching and counseling
