Course Overview There are certain benefits that come from working with people with the same background. Generaly, they will have a similar perception of the world, values that align, and a way of doing things that is familiar and comfortable. And that’s okay, until the team discovers that it is not progressing due to “groupthink,” A condition where an organization cannot think and behave out of the box. In this scenario, diversity is the key. But is it the solution? Not yet until the leaders take advantage of the wide range of viewpoints and organizational issues due to differences of ideas, opinions are managed well. Problems created by homogeneity should disappear too. This course addresses the value of having a diverse workforce and the steps leaders in an organization can take to encourage and leverage differences. The course offers ideas for establishing a culture of inclusion and increasing appreciation for and understanding of others.
